John Carl Lee, 90 of Mount Washington, KY, passed away peacefully January 7, 2025. He was born on October 4, 1934, in Huddy, KY, to Bruce and Minnie (May) Lee. He attended Hurley High School. He worked at National Video, Chicago, IL. He retired from Mothers Cookies, Shively, Ky. John was a member of Mt. Washington United Methodist Church in Mt. Washington. John was active in his youth starting in the Coal Mines in Buchanan Co, VA, before migrating to the auto plants in MI. He joined the US Army 82nd Airborne, where he completed many successful jumps as a paratrooper and being a member of the military police. He was a devoted husband, great father, amazing grandfather and great-grandfather. He never met a stranger he couldn’t have a conversation with. He loved sports and never missed a game his grandsons played. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Tommy Lee and Ira Lee. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 64 years Joyce Ann (Joanne Justus) Lee; son David (Teresa) Lee; grandsons, Marshall Lee (Kayla) and Dalton Lee (Jamie) ; great grandchildren, Aria Lee and Emmett Lee; Brother Donald (Dottie) Lee; sisters-in-law Ilene Lee and Alma Lee; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday.
