John Ray Lentz

John Ray Lentz, 79, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Baptist Health in Louisville.  He was a native of Jeffersontown, KY, a retired employee of General Motors, and a member of Cedar Springs Church of Christ.  John was a 1962 graduate of Fern Creek High School.  He enjoyed farming, working in hay and tobacco, and his Kentucky Wildcats.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Lentz; his parents, John W. and Mary Lucille Lentz; and a brother, Jimmy Lentz.  John is survived by two children, Barbara Figg (Jeff) and John David Lentz (Theresa); two sisters, Mary Deaton and Brenda Dawson (Bill); two brothers, Joe (Sandy) and Brad (Beverly) Lentz; a sister-in-law, Linda Lentz; six grandchildren, Dana, Justin, Megan, Kali, Jessica, and April; along with seven great grandchildren, Timothy, Gena, Mason, Amelia, Atlas, Jackson, and Hailey.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
