John Thomas "Tom" Newman

John Thomas "Tom" Newman, 77, of Shepherdsville, passed away December 6, 2025 at Baptist Health Louisville.  He was a United States Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam Conflict, a member of First Baptist Church Mount Washington, and active with the Roll Call Foundation.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Frances Newman; along with a sister, Ruth Anne Wambold.  He is survived by his loving wife, Eddie; five daughters, Michelle Hall, Stacy Simpson, Kristi Britt (Matt), Amanda Minogue, and Emily Newman; six grandchildren, Chaz Simpson (Cynthia), Alec Simpson, Matthew Owens, Lila Britt, Jonas Britt, and Damien Minogue; along with one great-grandson, Liam Simpson.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with cremation to follow.  Friends may visit after 11 a.m. Saturday.
