John Leroy Norton

John L. Norton, 88, of Taylorsville, passed away April 26, 2026 at Norton Women and Children's Hospital.  He was retired from the United States Navy and served in the United States Marine Corps.  He was an avid reader and loved working on his computer.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Norton.  He is survived by his loving wife, Doris; two daughters, Diana and Becky; along with a niece, Cindy.  Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit after 12 p.m. Thursday.
