John Henry Wilcher, Sr.

John Henry Wilcher, Sr., 90, of Mt. Washington, passed away January 13, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He was a retired employee of General Electric and a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Wilcher; along with his wives, Pauline and Sueanna Wilcher.  His love for life will be remembered by all his friends and family, including a son, John "JJ" Wilcher, Jr.; three daughters, Polly Mann (Terry), Peggy Sue Wilcher, and Lisa Grider (James); four step-sons, Bob (Pam), Ron (Angie), Mike (Tonya), and Tim (Jackie) Gordon; a brother, Carl Wilcher (Evelyn); along with 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 29, 2022 with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 5-8 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to either, Tunnel to Towers or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
