Johnny M. Hughes, 62, of Louisville, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Johnny accepted Christ at an early age at Second Baptist Church, Fairfield. He was in the United States Army and worked for many years at Gateway Press. He always had a saying; you ask him, “How you doing?”, he would respond, “Without”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Harriet Johnson Hughes; a brother, Donnie Hughes; his grandmother, Georgia Weaver Johnson; a nephew, Ja’Male Hughes; along with his niece, Karissa Newby.
He is survived by his son, Johnny Chandler; a bonus daughter, Tiffany Chandler; a brother, Bobby Hughes (Vicki); four sisters, Barbara and Judy Hughes, Cherry Ann Newby, and Wanda Rhodes (Ricky); five bonus grandchildren; a special friend, Linda Chandler; along with a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service.
