Obituary

Joseph Wayne Spalding, 56, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, March 17, 2022.  Wayne was a self-employed builder/developer, including the development of  Spalding Station, Creek Pointe, Forest Ridge, and Moore Farm Estates.  He was an avid horse racing fan and thoroughbred owner.  He has raced all over the United States and Canada, including racing in  the coveted Breeder's Cup.  He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, traveling, spending time with his family, especially riding ATV's with his grandchildren.  He was a member of Building Industry Association of Louisville (BIA) and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death by his father, James Lambert Spalding.  Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Teresa Spalding; two children, Jessica Clark (Brandon) and Justin Spalding (Kayla); his mother, Rose Spalding; two brothers, Mike and Doug Spalding; five beloved grandchildren, Jayden Dalton, Grayson Clark, Harper Clark, Jace Spalding, and Everlee Clark; along with a host of extended family, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many friends.  Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 1 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, 5526 West 13400 South, #510, Herriman, Utah 84096.
