June Elise Adams

June Elise Adams, 92, of Bardstown, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Landmark of Bardstown, following a stroke. June was born on July 3, 1930 in Louisville, KY to the late Joseph L. and Sarah Louise Adams.

She attended Campbellsville College and worked many years as a medical secretary in Louisville; later graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville.  Following her career as a social worker, last working for Seven Counties, she relocated to Sarasota, Florida for the warmth and travel opportunities.  In her later years, she returned to Louisville to be closer to family. She was a member of Hurstbourne Baptist Church and enjoyed the many friendships formed there.  She also took pleasure in reading, crafting, and painting.

She is survived by one sister, Billie Joyce Simpson; a sister-in-law, Alice Jean Adams; along with five nieces and nephews, Karol Inmon, Glenn Leigh Adams, Geri Rice, Lisa Adams-Wise, and Joe Simpson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe E, and Glenn, and a nephew, Ronnie.

Cremation was chosen.  A celebration of her life will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Friends may visit from 2 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday.
