Kenneth Ray Brooks, 85, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his home. He was a native of Bagdad, KY, a retired employee of Ralston Purina, and an United States Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Senior Citizens, former chaplin for AARP, Mt. Washington, and was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. He was preceded in death by his parents, French Lee and Lillie Brooks; and his siblings, Junior Brooks, Martha Edington, Mae Buschkoetter, and Thomas Brooks. Ken is survived by his wife of 48 years, Harriet Brooks, a daughter, Aimee Brooks; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at First Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial gifts in his memory are suggested to his church or his family.
