Levi Pemward Grant

Levi Pemward Grant, 30, of Taylorsville, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.  

Levi Grant was a rare breed of human. He was kind, genuine and loving. His love knew no boundaries and he was not afraid to love. As a young man, he found himself in a precarious situation when his mother, Sterling, passed away when he was just 16. He found strength and stability through his Mom’s sister, Sylvia Jo. His aunt Jo became a second mother to him, and he loved her so deeply. Her daughter, Angie, was like a sister to Levi. Levi found reassurance and guidance in Angie. They spent many days and nights pondering some of life’s biggest dilemmas and her guidance allowed him to become the great man he was. He is also survived by his sister, Chamel, she took care of him frequently as he grew up and he loved her dearly. His other sister, Ariel, was always by his side and was his biggest fan. Levi’s brother, Josh, was his best friend. Josh came into Levi’s life when Levi was 3 and the two of them were inseparable.  Devastatingly, Levi is not going to get to fulfill his lifelong goal of raising his children. He leaves behind his three favorite people in the world, his reasons, and his purposes.  He leaves behind two sons and a daughter. Asa, 10. Malachi, 5. Bella 5. Levi lived for his kids. He worked hard to be able to provide for them and loved to spoil them. Levi enjoyed taking his kids to the pool, the park, or anywhere outside. He made daily mundane tasks exciting for his kids! His kids loved it when he would walk them to the store in Taylorsville and get them treats and toys. One of Levi's favorite activities was playing video games and talking about video games with his oldest son Asa. Levi knew how to instill happiness within his children. Although he sometimes struggled his kids never knew it. His children exude joy and goodness daily. Levi instilled curiosity and a zest for life within his kids. His children are silly, playful, kind, and caring because of the lessons he taught them.  Levi loved his children with his whole heart and instilled goodness within each of them.  Anyone who has ever met Levi can attest; the world is a better place because of him.

A celebration of his life will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 9, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt Washington.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.
