Lida Catherine Duckett, 76, of Louisville, went home to be with the Father on Father's Day, June 20, 2021 at her home with the loving arms of her family. She was a native of Mt. Washington, a 1962 graduate of Mt. Washington High School, and a member of Mt. Washington United Methodist Church. She was a beloved caregiver to over 100 children with many of them bringing their children to her to watch as well. Her favorite things were spending time with her family, watching children, especially her niece, Kim, and going to Olive Garden. She also enjoyed going to Gatlinburg Tennessee to watch for bears. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Harvey and Geneva Duckett; siblings, Billy Ray Duckett Sr., Elizabeth Lee Cox, and Geneva Louise Embree; nephew, Sonny Cox; nieces, Linda Rice and Kim Taylor. Lida is survived by a sister, Rita Jo Taylor; a brother, John Harvey Duckett, Jr; five nieces, Debbie Vanover, Judy Sims, Penny McCracken Lisa Kelley, and Jennifer Thompson; four nephews, Bruce Cox, Billy Ray Duckett Jr., Eric and Brad Duckett; along with 25 great nieces and great nephews and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews; as well as a host of many others that considered her their aunt. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Noon on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
