Linda Bolander Hughes, 76, of Louisville, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Linda was born on August 12, 1948 in Louisville to the late John William and Laverne Bolander Sr. She was a proud graduate of Presentation Academy, a retired social worker, and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Linda was an avid runner, loved animals, and truly had a heart of gold. She was a nurturer and could always be counted on in times of need. She held many different titles throughout her life, but by far, the most cherished titles were that of mom and grammy. Linda touched many lives and her presence will be greatly missed. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Hughes. Linda is survived by two children, Daniel Williamson, Jr. (Dawnn) and Crista King (Jeff); one brother, John W. Bolander Jr. two sisters, Janice Mooney and Gail Weller; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Katy, and Jacob (Selena); two great grandchildren, Andreas and August; along with a host of nieces and nephews. In keeping with her wishes, cremation was chosen. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 4, 2024 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Memorial gifts in Linda’s memory are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Select Rehab and Symphony at Valley Farms Assisted Living for all the love and care over the past several years.
