Lucy Ella Atwood, 84, of Louisville, previously of Mt. Washington, passed away August 2, 2024. She was born February 9, 1940 in Liberty, KY to the late Josh and Dolly Hatter. Lucy was a polio survivor and a talented craftswoman, skilled in a variety of crafts. She had a gift and passion for ceramics, owning and operating her own ceramics shop at one point. She was a huge bingo enthusiast and played every chance she could. Lucy was a secretary for multiple companies throughout her life, including Globe Union and Johnson Controls. Along with her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Donald Atwood; along with two sisters, Wanda Hogue and Mary Duggins. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Maiden (Rodney), a son, Donald Keith Atwood (Cindy); a sister, Linda Atwood; four grandchildren, Chris Maiden (Carrie), Bryan Maiden, Kristi Blanks (Chris), and Kristal Wilson (Alex); two step-grandchildren, Jessica Long and Kelly Crank (Andy); along with twelve great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service.
