Lula Elizabeth (Keeling) Riley

Lula Elizabeth Riley, 89, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at her home.  She was born on April 7, 1935 in Spencer County, KY to the late Newton and Nannie Mae Keeling.  Liz was a homemaker and member of Living Hope Baptist Church.  Throughout the years, she enjoyed sewing, her flower garden, and canning from her vegetable garden.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clarence Donald Chesser; a son, Donald Joe Chesser; and siblings, Susie, James, Elva, Ruby, Harvey, Effie, and Doris.  She is survived by her husband, Earl Riley; a daughter, Karen Cook (Donnie); one sister, Mary Louise Shields; three grandchildren, Joey Chesser, Jonathan Cook, and Amanda Peyton; along with three great grandchildren, May, Brynlee, and Will.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit on Wednesday from 12 p.m. until time of service.  Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
