Lyda Garnette (Calvert) McDonald

Lyda Garnette McDonald, 96, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Glen Ridge Health Campus.  She was the former Garnette Calvert, a member of O.E.S. Chapter 552, and Mt. Washington United Methodist Church.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hugh McDonald; her parents, William E. and Anna Calvert; and three brothers, Bobby, Raymond, and James Calvert.  Garnette is survived by two daughters, Connie Swearingen- Roby (Wayne) and Mary Ann Pennington; three grandchildren, P.A. White, Leslie Fox, and Cliff Pennington; along with three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 5:30 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to Mt. Washington United Methodist Church Building Fund.
