Majella Marie (Roth) Williams

Majella Mae Williams, 92, was born on August 8, 1931 to the late Ferdinand and Mathilde Roth in Dammersbach, Germany.  As a young woman, shortly after WWII, she met the love of her life for 69 years.  They married then moved to the US where she later became a US citizen.  As a new citizen, improving her English, she also had to learn to drive before her husband got deployed again, leaving her to care for three children alone.  She is best known for her baking and cooking delicious German meals.  Her home was cared for in the same way most people from Germany do, everything had to be perfect.  She always offered anyone who dropped by a cup of coffee and some kind of homemade treat.  There wasn’t anything she could not do.  All learned without help from You Tube or Google.  She was a former member of St. Timothy Catholic Church, enjoyed her vegetable and flower garden, sewing, restoring old furniture and wallpapering – lots of wallpapering.   She loved her family, and was always available for caring for her grandchildren.  Majella will be dearly missed by her husband, Clarence B. Williams Jr.; three children, Shirley Schoenbaechler (David), Patricia Kleber, and Ronnie Williams (Claire); along with five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.  A memorial service will take place 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, 111 N. Bardstown Road, Mt. Washington, KY.  Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until time of services on Thursday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the Alzheimer Association or Hosparus of Louisville.
