Martha Jane (Ellingsworth) Alcorn

Martha Jane Alcorn, 94, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2024.  Martha was born on November 14, 1929 to the late James Orville and Flora Ellingsworth in Jefferson County, KY.  She was a retired registered nurse and a longtime member of Kings Baptist Church.  Martha loved her family and taking care of others, including visiting friends at the nursing homes over the years.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Kenneth Alcorn; her sister, Margie Holt; and a brother, James E. Ellingsworth.  She is survived by two sons, Mike (Kim) and Mark (Phyllis) Alcorn; one sister, Mary Mayer; one brother, Fred Ellingsworth; a sister-in-law, Alberta Tyler; along with three grandchildren, Daniel, Kayla, and Kelli Rae; a great granddaughter, Ella Kate, with another great grandbaby on the way.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Kings Church Cemetery.  Friends may visit Friday from 3 until 7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the DAV or the Wounded Warrior Program.
