Mary Lee Boyd, 73, of Louisville, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Rivers Edge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the former Mary Pearson, a homemaker, and was the first licensed and bonded female locksmith in Kentucky. She was an avid reader, loved to fish, and collected of all things angels and butterflies. She was very computer savvy, loved world travel, music and singing. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Boyd; and her parents, James and Lela Dawn Pearson. Mary is survived by three children, Marie Carney (Shannon), Tony Carney (Boat) and James Boyd; one sister, Lorna Pearson Ulmer (Charles); two nephews, Jeff and Andrew Ulmer; along with five grandchildren, Seth and Claire Carney, Shane White, Alex and George Boyd; and a great granddaughter, Denver Boyd. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from noon until time of service on Thursday.
