Mary Hannah Moore, 96, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022. She was the former Hannah Shelburne, a retired employee of the old Highland Baptist Hospital, and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. Hannah spent many years serving her church family as a choir member and a children's Sunday school teacher for 75 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Moore; her son, John Wayne Moore; a granddaughter, Michelle Moore; and her siblings, Dudley Shelburne, Harold Shelburne, Elizabeth Simpson, Birdie Rouse, and Gracie Cox. Hannah is survived by her granddaughter, Hope Jones; her "adopted daughter", Suzanne Grieve (Scott); two grandchildren, Marshall and Olivia Jones; "adopted grandchildren", Joshua and Caleb Grieve; her beloved dog, "Little Bubba"; along with several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorial gifts are suggested to First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington.
