Mary Janice (Shelton) Keen

Mary Janice Keen, 90, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Monday, February 10, 2020 at her home.  She was the former Mary Shelton, a native of Booneville, and a retired employee of Bell South.  She was a member of the Eastern Star and First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Larry Keen; her parents, Herb and Lydia Barclay Shelton; and siblings, Leroy, Robert, Herb Jr., Leola, and Lillian.  Mary is survived by four children, Kathy Laha (Rick), Sue Thrasher, David Keen (Lisa), and Malisa Russell (Joe); grandchildren, Loree Marsh (Nick), Jennifer Brown (Kent), Jessica Hendrix (Paul), Nick Thrasher, Addie Scudder (Tyler), Andrew Keen, Taylor Hutchason (Matt), Marissa Shields (Trent), and Chase Russell; great grandchildren, Nicholas Marsh, Sara Marsh, Kate Marsh, Mason Brown, Spencer Brown, Alexis Melancon (Austin), Justin Boatwright (Hannah), Ariel Thrasher, Mikayla Thrasher, Kymber Hutchason, Kynsley Hutchason, and Eden Shields; great-great grandchildren, Rusty Boatwright, Colton and Slade Melancon; special caregivers, Regina Taylor and Danielle Mills; along with her dear friend, Sue Moore.  Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and after 1 p.m. Friday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville.  The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Donna Gentry and Jenny for help keeping their mother beautiful.
