Michael G. Mudd, 65, of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at his home on Sunday, September 1, 2024, after a courageous, 10 yr. battle with cancer. Mike was a retired truck driver for Sysco Foods, and later with Pegasus. He was very proud of his 2,000,000+ miles safe driving award. Mike also was very proud of being the drummer for the Red Letter Edition Gospel Group. He was a Christian man and attended Victory Baptist Church and Riverview Baptist Church. He also enjoyed his time at the lake with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Nellie Mudd; a brother, Howard Mudd; along with his brother-in-law, Chester Bennett. Mike leaves to cherish his memory, the love of his life, Gloria Roggenkamp Mudd; his daughter, whom he adored and was so proud of, Ashley Lewis (David); his son, with whom he was proud of and loved being a UL cardinal fan with, Steven Mudd (Samantha); his nephew, that he loved as a son, Charlie Mudd (Jessica); a step-son, Eric McCawley, with whom he loved to talk sports with, especially UL vs UK and any NFL team vs the Chicago Bears; the light of Mike’s life, his grandchildren, Blake Lewis, Chase Lewis, Elliot Mudd, Reece Mudd, Kaden McCawley, Kylie McCawley, Nolan McCawley; his 4 sisters, Joyce Bennett, Kathleen Chandler, Glenda Triplett (Gary), and Marli DeWitt (Terry); along with a host of nieces and nephews, whom he dearly loved. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Friday with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home. The family would like to express a special thanks to Dr. Abigail Chan, Brown Cancer Institute, Dr. Patrick Williams, Norton Brownsboro Hospital, and Dr. Bradley Kocian for their care and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
