Mildred Josephine (Barlow) Gabehart

Mildred Josephine "Jo" Gabehart, 87, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Green Meadows Health Care Center.  She was the former Jo Barlow, a native of Liberty, KY, and a retired employee of General Electric.  She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington, serving many bereavement meals to grieving families over the years.  She was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star,  loved working in her yard, gardening, cooking, and her spoiling her six grandsons.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Cobert H. Gabehart; a grandson, Cody Cornish; and siblings, Georgia Adams, Fletcher, Marshall, Albert, John, and Robert Barlow.  Jo is survived by three children, Cobert G. Cassity (James), Barbara Cornish (David), and Debbie Meadows (Stephen); one brother, Gene Barlow; four sisters, Lizzie Garrett, Delores Godwin, Ova Roberts, and Dollie Noel; five grandsons, Shawn Cornish, Stephen Meadows Jr.; Samuel Meadows, Chris and Logan Gabehart; along with six great grandchildren, Aiden and Averie Gabehart, Sora and Fiona Cornish, Sylvie and Hadley Meadows.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Florence officiating.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.  Memorial gifts in her memory are suggested to the Gideons International.
