Bruce Clark, 102, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, April 11, 2024 at the Lexington VA Medical Center. He was a native of Mt. Washington, a retired radio engineer for WKLO 1080AM in Louisville, and a lifelong member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. Bruce was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and served as the first elected mayor of the city of Mt. Washington from January 1968 through December 1969. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna Ruth Clark; his parents, Martin and Fannie Clark; brothers, James, Milton, Frank, and Ray Clark; and sisters, Josie Clark, Frances Beach, Nancy Able, and Verda Downs. Bruce is survived by two children, Benita Gale King (John) of Lexington and Murray Clark (Claudeca) of Versailles; three grandchildren, Tracy Estepp (Scott), Chris King (Kathy), and Jodianne Broomall (Aaron); along with six great grandchildren, Taylor Estepp, Katie King, Annie McMahon, Allie King, Allette and Antonio Broomall. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery. Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
