Patrica (Pat) Ann Hazelip, 87, of Mount Washington, formerly of Aurora, went peacefully to be with her Lord on the morning of March 2, 2025 at her home. Patricia worked as a Secretary for Gospel Assembly Church of Illinois for over 25 years retiring from that position in 1993.
Pat was a devoted mother and homemaker and truly had a servant’s heart! She loved her family! Nothing made her happier than to have all the family around her as she was cooking and providing their favorite meals, and the noise of everyone being together.
Pat loved her church, Christian Assembly, and her church family. She served as a youth leader, sang in the choir, played in the band, and even led a children’s choir. She didn’t just work naturally, she was a spiritual woman who had dedicated her life to her Heavenly Father and His Son – Jesus Christ. She led her family in spiritual ways – always guiding us to things greater than this earth.
Patricia was predeceased by her husband Damon Karl “Jack” Hazelip, her parents, Henry and Opal Penrod, and her sisters, Delores June (Penrod) Taylor, Betty Sue (Penrod) Lydon, and Ludema Nel (Penrod) Williams.
Left cherishing her memory are her children, Jeff (Valerie) Hazelip; Doreen (Don) Langley, David Hazelip; a godson, John Crager; her grandchildren, Josh (Jamie) Langley, Andy (Rachel) Hazelip, and Katie (Michael) Shults; great grandchildren, Natalie, Stephen, Eleanor, Matthew, Stella, Benjamin, Elsie, Cyrus, and Johanna; her sisters, Nancy (Ron) Schofield and Wanda Yarbrough; a brother, Jackie Penrod; along with many more extended family and friends.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 14, at Christian Assembly Church, 9020 Stonestreet Road, Louisville, KY 40272 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and A Life Celebration will be held Saturday, March 15 at 12 noon burial at Beth Haven Memorial Gardens. Pat will lie in state at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until service time.
