Paul Stephen Korfhage

Paul Stephen Korfhage, of Parrish, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2024, at the age of 68. Born on September 1, 1956, in Louisville, Kentucky, Paul lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to his family, friends, and faith.Paul graduated from Bullitt Central High School in 1974 and quickly began a career with Alltel Telephone Company as a lineman. Through corporate transitions and countless telephone poles, he stayed the course, eventually retiring from Windstream after decades of dedicated service. Though his career was notable, Paul would be the first to tell you that his greatest accomplishments were his daughters and the grandchildren they blessed him with. Paul was the loving husband of 49 and a half years to Andilyn Proctor Korfhage, who lights up a room with her stories and endless conversation—a talent Paul lovingly supported with his steadfast listening. Together, they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and cherished memories. Paul is survived by his daughters, Olivia Pitchford (Brett) and Megan Arnold (Kevin); his beloved grandchildren, Brynn, Quinn, Bryce, and Scarlett; and his loyal dog, Tyrus. He was also a proud host father to several foreign exchange students, extending his family and heart to young people from around the globe. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Paul Korfhage, and his sister, Nancy Gentry.  Paul had a quiet strength and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He spent numerous days and nights cheering on his daughters at their sporting events, school activities, music performances, and standing by them through life’s challenges.  Paul loved collecting clocks, often tinkering with them in his spare time, and he had an unmatched talent for telling a good story—or pulling someone’s leg. Quiet by nature, he opened up to those lucky enough to know him well, offering wit, wisdom, and a twinkle in his eye. A man of deep faith, Paul was baptized at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for many years. He later moved his membership to Mt. Washington United Methodist Church, and over the years, he attended several churches, always seeking community and spiritual growth. Paul was also a proud member of the Salt River Masonic Lodge, where he formed lasting bonds and supported meaningful causes. Paul had a lifelong love of the Smoky Mountains, which inspired many camping trips and family vacations. In later years, he and Andilyn became snowbirds, eventually settling in Parrish, Florida, where they found a warm community of dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, KY.  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service on Saturday.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s memory to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a friend who could always make you smile. His legacy of love, laughter, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
