Phillip Keith Wicker, 90, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at his home. He was born on January 12, 1936 in Martin, KY to the late Monroe and Golda Maggard Wicker. Phillip was a graduate from Morehead University and 1959 graduate of Tulane University, where he received his law degree, Juris Doctor (JD). He served in private practice law in Somerset, and the most recently from 1994 to 2001 at J. Chester Porter and Associates in Shepherdsville, KY. A notable time in career happened in 1972 when he won a case in front of the U. S. Supreme Court. Phillip also served as a circuit court judge from 1976 until 1982 in Pulaski and Rockcastle Counties. He was the past secretary and honorary member of the Bar of Examiners and was a member of the German-American Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a great grandson, Hans Peterson II.
Phillip is survived by two sons, Thomas (Teresa) and John Wicker; one brother, Terry Wicker (Barbara); four grandchildren, Amanda Peterson, Megan Owens, Rebecca Shumay and Alexandria Wicker; along with five great grandchildren, Hannah Peterson, Hayleigh Peterson, Stephen Hathoway, Leah Wicker and Alexander Shumay.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2026 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Morehead, KY. Friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday.
