Raymond David Alcorn, 81, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2025 at his home. He was born on September 16, 1943 in Louisville, KY to the late Claude and Icie Gentry Alcorn. He was a retired millwright with Millwrights Local Union 1031, a Navy veteran, a member of Salt River Masonic Lodge #180, and First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington. Raymond was a master craftsman, he enjoyed creating anything from furniture to playhouses for his grandchildren. He enjoyed music, especially listening to his son and grandson, and had a great love for flowers and trees, and enjoyed working in his greenhouse. He loved his family, and his pride and joy was his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Kaye Taylor, Connie Wise, Steven, Ricky, Gerald, and Randall Drew Alcorn. Raymond is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy Alcorn; two sons, Berry (Sandra) and Richard (Michelle) Alcorn; a brother, Desi Alcorn; one sister, Barbara Williams; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Alcorn-Wimpsett, Nicholas, Lucas "Colt", and Shelby Alcorn; and a great grandson, Conner. Funeral and Masonic services will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. until time of service on Friday.
