Rev. George A. Allgood Jr., 80, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2024 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital. George was born on July 8, 1944 in Meade County, KY, to the late George "Alfred" and Lizzie Bruner Allgood. He was a retired United Methodist minister and a proud U.S. Airforce veteran. Throughout his life, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and genealogy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters. George is survived by his wife, Barbara Patton Allgood; daughters, Shelly Cremer (Kirk), Angela Mingus (Brent), and Susan Robinson (Ronnie); six grandchildren, Ian Whitehair, Brett Mingus, Amber Duncan, Morgan Shultz, Ryan Robinson, and William Cremer; along with several step-grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may visit Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial gifts are suggested to Tunnels to Towers Foundation (www.t2t.org).
