Richard Lowell Nichols

Richard Nichols, 54, of Pekin, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Kindred Hospital.  Richard was a native of Louisville, a graduate from the University of Louisville Speed School, and engineer with the Army Corp of Engineers.  He enjoyed watching Nascar.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Nichols and Martha Willeford; and his mother-in-law, Ramona Harrington.  Richard is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Gina Dooley Nichols; father-in-law, Jerry Dooley (Jo); father-in-law, David Harrington;  brother-in-law, Michael Dooley; and nephew, Logan Dooley; along with a host of extended family and many friends, especially his co-workers.  Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to Hosparus or First Baptist Church Building Fund.
