Richard Lewis Seifert, 96, of Louisville, devoted servant of our Heavenly Father went to his reward on June 17, 2021.
He was a retired salesman for Duro-Test Corp., volunteer chaplain for the Kentucky State Reformatory at LaGrange, past president of the Louisville Fish Hooks, fishers of men, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Gideons International, the Kentucky Thoroughbreds Chorus, and the Christian Assembly Church.
He was also a United States Army World War II Veteran serving in both the 17th Airborne and the 193rd Glider Infantry Regiment.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Katherine Seifert; a step-son, Ron Kurtz; along with a brother, Jim Seifert.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lola DeVore Seifert; four sons, Richard L. Seifert, Jr., Richard Kurtz (Linda), Alan Lee, and Keith Seifert (Sabine); four daughters, Diane Parsons (Fred), Leslie Bolding, Vedra Hufstedler, and Misty Hampton (Jeff); along with fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at the Christian Assembly Church with burial to follow in Cave Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service at the church.
