Robert Wayne Porter, Sr.

Robert Wayne "Moose" Porter, Sr., 70, of Mt. Washington, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023 at his home.  Before retiring, Robert worked in the HVAC industry.   In later years, he enjoyed working on the farm with his friend, Paul Coke.  He also enjoyed driving race cars.   He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathleen Porter; two sisters, Marie Porter and Judy Conway; and a brother, Joseph Porter.  He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Porter; two sons, Robert Jr. and Jeremy (Nicole) Porter; two brothers, Richard Porter and Charles Porter; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Dylan Porter; and his grand-dogs, Abbie and Caramel.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 11 a.m. Saturday.
