Rosie was born on October 2, 1948 in Louisville, KY to the late Cornelius and Mary Weaver. She served her community as a paramedic with the Bullitt County EMS for 20 years. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and in her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren. She also had a great love for cats over the years. She leaves behind two fur babies, Mutton Chop and Rusty, who enjoyed keeping her company. Rosie is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Kenny Barnes; two sons, Kenneth Ray Barnes Jr. (Amy) and Brandon Michael Barnes (Kelly); one brother, Cornelius Weaver (Dana); one sister, Sandy Knight; along with two grandchildren, Allison and Mary Barnes. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home. Friends may visit Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Saturday. Her compassion, dedication, and love for family and her community will be deeply missed. Memorial gifts in her memory are suggested to be made to Hosparus of Louisville.
