Ruby Joyce Hanna, 87, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Monday, February 3, 2025 at her home. She enjoyed quilting, loved to read, especially the Bible, working in her flower garden, and was an avid UK fan. Joy was one of the five founding parents of the Apple Patch Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dewey Hanna; a daughter, Debra Wheeler; her parents, Robert and Margaret Grant; and two sisters, Shirley Anadell and Betty Laverne Grant. She is survived by her daughter, Karen O'Neil (Rod); four sons, David, Kevin, Christopher (Erma), and Bobby Hanna; along with eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday. Memorial gifts are suggested to the Apple Patch Community (Pillar).
