Ruby Mae (Chesser) Mattingly

Ruby M. Mattingly, 89, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Baptist Health.  She was the former Ruby Chesser and was a retired employee of General Electric.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayze Mattingly; two sons, Hayze Mattingly Jr. and Roger Dale Mattingly; one daughter, Lisa Mae Combs;  her parents, Ike and Dellia Chesser Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.  Ruby is survived by six children, James Earl Combs, John Edmond Combs, Etalka Mattingly, Elizabeth Ann Needy, Mary Rose Cummins, and Hilda Mattingly; two sisters, Dellia Hardin and Katie Smith; along with 26 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Wednesday at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services on Wednesday.
