Shea Lynn (Gonzalez) Cortez

Loving mother, daughter, and sister, Shea Lynn Cortez, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2020, at the young age of 39.  She had lived in other parts of the country, but always called Elizabethtown, Kentucky, her home.  She was born on June 16, 1980, in Georgia.

Shea was a graduate from Western Kentucky University and lived for her three amazing children. She was an adamant supporter of her children's activities that ranged from chorus and Girl Scouts to soccer, marching band, lacrosse, and wrestling.  She was so proud of their incredible talents and unique personalities.  Her precious children are her most beautiful and lasting legacy. 

Shea was preceded in death by her father, Juan Gonzalez. She is survived by her three adoring children: Malakai Witten, Landyn, and Shyla Cortez as well as her parents: Dana and Daryl Wells.  Shea is also survived by her sisters: Amanda Pharris (Danny) and Karina McCracken (Maxwell), and their children: Gavin Pharris, Malia, Christian, and Maddox McCracken.

Funeral services are closed to immediate family only. An outdoor celebration of life is being planned for her birthday and will be open to all friends and loved ones of Shea and her family.
