Shirley Ann Risinger, 88, of Taylorsville, returned to the Lord on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at her home. She was born on July 25, 1936 in Jefferson County, KY to the late Clyde and Grace Speer. She loved her family and devoted her life to their care and for many foster children over the years. Shirley was a member of Cedar Springs Church of Christ and taught Sunday School there over the years. She enjoyed cooking, camping, and watching her Kentucky Wildcats. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest "Buck" Risinger; and a sister, Betty Laswell. Shirley is survived by four children, Judy Rohe, Linda Clement (Lee), Kathy Barnes (Joe), and Bobby Tindall; one sister, Linda Laswell; three grandchildren, Heather Stewart (Scott), Matthew Clement (Marie), and Christy Hopper; ten great grandchildren, Ashley Kuykendall, Amber Moore, Bailey Hopper, Jordyn Hopper, Caleb, Ian, and Riley Clement, Kaitlyn Stewart, Jacob Stewart, and Jaiden Clement; along with one great-great grandson, Levi Moore. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. with private family viewing starting at 3 p.m. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorial gifts in Shirley's memory are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville.
