Susan Charlene (Smith) Hedges

Susan Charlene Hedges, 74, of Louisville, passed away July 5, 2023 at Norton Women's and Children's Hospital.  She was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a former member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, a life-long member of the VFW, and member of the Marine Corps League.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Marietta Smith; her loving husband, Larry Hedges; along with a daughter, Bethany Joyce Clemerson.  She is survived by a daughter, Shauna Hedges (Russell); two brothers, Wade (Carole) and Scott Smith; two grandchildren, Alexandra Allyssa Goldner (Josh) and Gabriella Golden; one great-granddaughter, Cooper Elizabeth Goldner; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  In keeping with Susan's wishes, cremation was chosen.  A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Friends may visit from 4 p.m. until time of service.
