Susan Lynn Whaley, 73, of Taylorsville, returned to the Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was the former Susan Rose, a retired employee of the Bullitt County Board of Education, and a member of Kings Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Rose. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Jerry Whaley; one daughter, Betsy Smith (Earl); a son, Brent Whaley (Meredith); two sisters, Sharon Kulp (Louie) and Sandy Wininger (Randy); along with six grandchildren, Madison Rose Smith, Gracie Smith, Caroline, Eleanore, Graham, and Elliott Whaley; nieces and nephews, Mark Fleig, Jenni Burton, Todd Fleig, and Missi Cowan. A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2024 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Lowery officiating. Friends may visit from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday. Memorial gifts in Susan’s memory are suggested to Hosparus of Louisville.
