T. Russell Burris

T. Russell Burris, 85, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Baptist Health.  He was born in Adair County, KY to the late Allen and Iceline Burris.  He was an Army veteran, a retired employee of General Electric Co., and a faithful member of Living Hope Baptist Church.  Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, J. C. Burris (Shirley).  He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Sally Jewell Burris; one daughter, Tammy Fluegge; one brother, Calvin Burris (Helen); a sister, Carolyn Rutherford (Leland); one grandson, Clay Mattingly (Mary); and one beloved great grandson, John Timothy "Jack" Mattingly.  Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Mt. Washington Cemetery with military honors.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.  Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers are suggested to Gideon's International.
