Thelma Ruth (Shake) Jenkins

Thelma Ruth Jenkins, 103, of Jeffersontown, KY, returned to the Lord on Saturday, September 27, 2025.  She was born on July 28, 1922 in Jefferson County, KY, to the late James Adam and Ethel Drake Shake.  She was a retired employee of National Distillery and General Electric Co., and was a longtime member of Kings Baptist Church.  In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, cross- stitch, and square dancing.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jenkins; her son, Malcolm Jenkins; and siblings, Charles David Shake, James “JC” Shake, Ernest Ray Shake, and Ruby Lee Butler.  Thelma Ruth is survived by her daughter-in-law, Sharon Jenkins; three grandchildren, Andrea Bailey, Samantha Jenkins (Russell Patrick), and Danielle Harris (Gene); two great grandchildren, Logan and Kaelin; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.  Her life will be celebrated 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.  Friends may visit on Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Thursday.   The family request everyone wear bright colors to her celebration.    Memorial gifts in her memory are suggested to be made to the Crusade for Children.
