Theodore Augustin Vowels (Ted) of Shepherdsville, Kentucky passed away peacefully in his home on Monday, April 10th, 2023. Ted was born March 23 rd , 1941, to William and Agnes Vowels. He married his childhood sweetheart, Carlene Genewein, in 1961. The couple established Country Corner Greenhouse in 1981. Country Corner was a Bullitt County staple that brought joy to patrons and community members for 40 years. The hard work and dedication displayed by Ted was an inspiration to many. His talent and passion were impossible to miss. Ted was an adoring father to his four children Teddy, Dora, Ann, and Lisa (Chad). He was also a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren Amanda, Garrett, Hank, Emma Grace, and Spencer. Ted was a kind and compassionate man who will be thoroughly missed by those he has touched. He taught all of those around him the value of hard work, diligence, and most importantly family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and close friends filled with flowers and time for sharing all of our memories. Memorial gifts are suggested to St. Jude, an organization that had a special place in Ted’s heart. McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home, Mt. Washington, was entrusted with the arrangements.
