Troy William Sloan

Troy W. Sloan, 85, passed away on March 6, 2026 at his home with family.  Troy graduated from Lebanon Junction High School, and went on to finish his education at Western Kentucky University.  He was a former member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Washington and the Mt. Washington Lions Club.  Troy finished his nearly 40 year career with Blue Cross Blue Shield as an internal auditor.  Troy married his childhood sweetheart, Barbara Sowder, and started their life together.  He was dedicated to his family, and especially loved times with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two children, Mark and Marla Sloan; and his parents, Dr. Troy P. and Lillian Sloan; and siblings, Keenis Sloan and Marilyn Lucas.

Troy is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Barbara Sloan; two daughters, Melanie Britt and Melissa Stuart (Page); four grandchildren, Will Stuart, Claire Stuart, Niki Britt, and Weston Britt; along with three great grandchildren, Alec, Cole and Macy Britt.

Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service on Saturday.
