Veleda Mae Stallings Travis, 93, of Mt. Washington, passed away peacefully, February 14, 2024 at Baptist Health Louisville. She was a member of First Baptist Church Mount Washington and the Mount Washington Senior Citizens. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Frances Stallings; her loving husband, Tommy Travis; her daughter, Brenda Travis Myers (Richard); along with her siblings, Omer, Joe, and Bill Stallings, Dorothy Shelton, and Marlene Shepherd. She is survived by her son, Galvin Travis (Becky); a sister, Blondeana Meredith; a sister in law, Darlene Stallings; four grandchildren, Brian Gordon (Kathy), Lindsay Travis (Aaron), Joshua Travis (Rene), and Adam Travis (Gabrey); eight great-grandchildren, Ashton, Emma, Travis (Rachel), Grayson, Alexander, Isaiah, Gabriel, Presley, and Kassi; one expected great-great-grandson, Blaine; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit Tuesday from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
