Velma L. "Snookie" (Mahoney) Barnett

Velma L. “Snookie” Barnett, 88, of Mt. Washington, returned to the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Baptist Health Louisville.

She was the former Velma Mahoney, a retired employee of General Electric, and a faithful member of First Christian Church, Mt. Washington.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Delano “Dale” Barnett; her parents, Cline and Eva Mahoney; along with siblings, Sylvia Dean Blake and Janie Skaggs.

Velma is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Louise Maddix (Danny) and Tonya Dale Lanning (Mark); two sons, Byron Keith (Becky) and Kenneth Allen (Laurie) Barnett; siblings, Jo Simmons, Sue Price, Jimmy Mahoney, Wayne Mahoney, Recie Burd, and Linda Wolfe; along with eleven grandchildren and one great grand-daughter.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with cremation to follow.  Friends may visit from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of service.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church, Mt. Washington.
