Virginia Lee Payne, 91, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at her son's home. She was the former Virginia Brittain, a native of Corbin, KY, and a former employee of Olan Mills Photography. She loved playing piano, reading, and working crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed watching and playing Jeopardy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Parks John and Pearl Wolford Brittain; and siblings, Douglas Brittain, Kathryn Gibson, and Trece Henderson. Virginia is survived by four children, Iris Elaine Dailey (David), Jack Lee Payne Jr. (Dana), Colin Brian Payne (Denise), and Jennifer Gail Payne; nine grandchildren, Matt, Travis, Laura, Kelly, Audrey, Jackson, Cameron, Alex and Devin; along with eleven great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Cremation was chosen. Friends may visit on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 6 p.m. The family would like to express their gratitude to their Hosparus team, Lema, Tiffany, and especially to her daughter, Jennifer, for all of the love and care given. Memorial gifts in her memory are suggested to Kosair Charities or Hosparus of Louisville.
