Wanda Willis, 95, returned to the Lord Wednesday, October 8, 2025 in Nashville, TN. Wanda spent many years living in Louisville, KY until 2004 when she moved to Wilmington, NC for a short time. From there, she moved to Brentwood, TN and remained there until her death. She was born in New Martinsville, WV to the late Floyd R. Fox and Hazel Eloise (Taylor) Fox on December 14, 1929. She grew up on a dairy farm there along with twelve brothers and sisters. She worked as a waitress at the Denny’s on Eastern Parkway in Louisville for many years. She also enjoyed working as a background actor on numerous film and TV shows. In her spare time, she enjoyed her morning coffee, reading, watching Hallmark movies, Everybody Loves Raymond, and the 700 Club. She also enjoyed traveling, the ocean, her plants and fur babies. She loved listening to Tom Jones, Betty Boop, and attending plays. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, James, Melvin , Dewayne, Elwood, and Alfred Fox; sisters, Mildred (Fox) Reed, Daisy Fox, and Naomi Fox; and a granddaughter, Jennifer (Miles) Dukes. She is survived by her three children: Rhonda Messer, Myra Miles (William), and Mike Umlauf (Diana); brothers, Bill (Emmalou), Marvin (Brenda), and Phillip (Erma) Fox; along with seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; along with a host of extended family, including Ronnie Messer. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may visit from 12 p.m. until time of services on Friday.
