Wanda McGaughey Brown

Wanda M. Brown, 73, of Louisville returned to the Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at Norton Audubon Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.  She was the former Wanda McGaughey, a retired employee of Sandrella's Restaurant where she worked for 25 years, and  Pentecostal by faith.  Wanda had a deep connection with the Lord.  She enjoyed cooking, working in her flowers, and sharing the gospel.  Her most precious moments will always be her time spent with her family and friends.  The holidays were her favorite time of the year, and  went all out for the kids.  She was preceded in death by her longtime partner, Richard Roby; her parents, Stanley and Dortha Mae McGaughey; her siblings, Stanley Eugene McGaughey, Edna Ruth Gafford, Helen Marie, Thomas Perry, and Kenneth Harold McGaughey, and Deloris Kessler, and her friend, Sue Maddux.  Wanda leaves behind her only child, Jeff McGaughey (Kim); a brother, Charlie McGaughey; three grandchildren, Amber (Nate), Jordan, and Dylan McGaughey; great grandchildren, Gabe, Autumn, Colton, and Ariel Cheatham, and Carter McGaughey; her dear friends, Ron and Marilyn Smallwood; longtime friends and neighbors, Gary Kuhn, Bobby and Glenda Allen; along with a host of nieces and nephews she dearly loved.  Funeral services will be 12 p.m.  Friday, August 8, 2025 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home with burial to follow in Highland Memory Gardens.  Friends may visit on Thursday, August 7, 2025 from 3 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Friday.  Memorial gifts are suggested to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation or your charity of choice.
