William Duane Miller

William Duane Miller, 87, of Mt. Washington, formerly of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Baptist Health.  He was a native of Streetsboro, OH, a former school psychologist and administrator with the Owensboro School System, and a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Owensboro.  After retirement, he volunteered in his community serving with CASA, Dare to Care, and prepared taxes with AARP.  He was preceded in death by his parents, John P. and Elizabeth Miller; and his brothers, Wilbur Miller, and twins, Vern and Vernon Miller.  Duane is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lavonna Miller; three children, Lynette Ferrante (Ken), Randy (Lee Hawthorne-Miller), and Eric (Shayne) Miller; along with six grandchildren, Brian, Katie, Alex, Taylor, Lily, and Seth; and one great grandson, Maverick.  Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home.  Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service.  Burial will take place in Highland Memory Gardens.   Memorial gifts are suggested to the Alzheimer's Association.
