William Roy “Bill” Crenshaw, 72, of Otisco, Indiana left this world to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born on March 14, 1951 in Fisherville, Kentucky . son of Edgar and Lula Belle Vaughn (Rickman) Crenshaw. Bill was baptized as a child when he was in third grade as a Baptist and loved and followed Jesus’s teachings as he worked hard to provide for his family that he loved so much. His career was in diesel trucks, and in his earlier years he drove a truck over the road, then moving on to maintenance when he needed to be home with his family. He was a dedicated worker for Ryder Transportation as a mechanic, moving up to manager of repair shops and then finally as trainer of managers and mechanics. Bill’s leisure time was spent woodworking, playing golf, watching NASCAR and his unwavering support of U of L basketball.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, passion and craftsmanship. He will be remembered as a loving family man and a great provider to his family. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Thomas “Pete” Crenshaw. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Lorane (Sparrow) Crenshaw; sons, Ronnie(Nicole) Crenshaw, Tim Crenshaw; grandson, Max; brother, John David “JD” Crenshaw along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express deep appreciation to Hosparus Health of Louisville and Norton Audubon Hospital hospice unit for making Bill’s last days comfortable and their compassionate caring for him and his family.
There will be a visitation held on Thursday, Nov 2, 2023 from 4-8pm at Legacy Funeral Center, 921 Main Street, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130. There will be a 2nd visitation held on Friday, Nov 3, 2023 from 4-7pm with service to follow at McFarland-Troutman Proffitt Funeral Home, 111 N. Bardstown Rd, Mt. Washington, KY 40047. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens on Saturday at 11am.
